The challenge
Delivery of a Suitable Alternative Natural Greenspace (SANG) to mitigate recreational pressure on the New Forest, while meeting biodiversity net gain requirements.
Our solution
We carried out an EcIA, breeding bird and Great Crested Newt surveys, a UKHab survey, and a Bird Hazard Management Plan. Post-consent, we produced a Construction Ecological Management Plan (CEcMP) to satisfy planning conditions.
Outcome
Our layered ecological approach supports Eastleigh’s wider mitigation strategy, ensuring the SANG scheme meets legal requirements while delivering biodiversity benefits.
