Hello, I am very happy to be joining the Burton Reid team this year knowing what a great service they offer. I like to think that I can contribute strongly to this service having spent the last ten years working in ecology. During this time I have helped to ensure that the ecological component of each project was handled in a way that ensured the best possible outcome for both the client and the wildlife.
I have been a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management since 2014 and have managed to accumulate survey licenses for several European Protected Species (dormouse, bats and great crested newt). This contributes greatly to obtaining a good understanding of the ecological baseline for each project. Being registered to use the CL35 licence for badgers also means that mitigation schemes for this species can be put together with the minimum of fuss.
Everybody at Burton Reid has been very welcoming since I started in February which has helped me to hit the ground running with some very interesting projects ranging from small scale housing developments to local infrastructure schemes, to council-led residential improvements. I’m especially excited to be working with the landscaping team that Burton Reid have assembled. This means that we now offer a full suite of ecological services. Ensuring a positive result for the environment with each project is very important to us all and having the ecology and landscaping teams working together means this is more easily achieved.
