On-site ecological expertise to keep your programme compliant and moving
Ecological risks don’t stop once planning permission is granted. During construction, your project still needs to meet licence requirements, planning conditions, and best practice standards - all without introducing unnecessary delays.
At Burton Reid, we provide responsive, on-site ecological support to help your team stay compliant and confident. Whether it’s a quick check-in, preparation of a Construction Ecological Management Plan, a full-time ECoW presence, or advice during a critical phase, we’re here to keep things moving.
What we offer
Construction Ecological Management Plans (CEcMPs)
We produce clear, site-specific CEcMPs to discharge planning conditions and meet licensing requirements. Our plans outline how ecological risks will be managed during construction—covering roles and responsibilities, species protection measures, sensitive timing, and on-site supervision. Designed with contractors in mind, our CEcMPs are practical, proportionate, and easy to implement on live sites.
Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW)
On-site supervision during sensitive works, including habitat clearance, site preparation, or works near protected species. We help identify and resolve issues in real time to avoid costly hold-ups.
Toolbox Talks and Site Briefings
We deliver engaging, site-specific ecological briefings to ensure contractors understand protected species requirements and mitigation measures—keeping everyone on the same page.
Responsive Advice During Works
Unexpected ecological challenges can arise mid-project. We offer fast, pragmatic input when needed, helping you manage risk and respond effectively without derailing your timeline.
Compliance Monitoring and Reporting
We monitor ecological conditions and produce clear, actionable reports that demonstrate compliance with licence terms and planning conditions—giving you and your stakeholders peace of mind.
Supporting Your Site Team
We understand the pressures of live construction environments. That’s why we work collaboratively with your contractors, site managers, and planners to provide:
