A Hands-On NVC Training Day

🌿 Great to wrap up the week with a really positive focus on skills development at Burton Reid Associates 🌿

We’ve been investing in upskilling our botanists, and this week we delivered a bespoke NVC training day with Hannah Gibbons.

Over the session, the team built their understanding of the NVC system — from classifying communities and sub-communities to using indicator, preferential and differential species with confidence. They then headed out to Hembury Woods to put theory into practice, carrying out field sampling and applying these concepts on site.

Back in the office, the team followed standard NVC methodologies to analyse and interpret their data using RMAVIS and NVC keys, linking results to identify the appropriate vegetation communities.

A really valuable day that strengthened both field skills and data interpretation — and a big thank you to Hannah for delivering such a practical and engaging session.
