Our Landscape Services
Landscape Design ServicesBurton Reid’s landscape architects have a broad depth of experience and can provide you comprehensive landscape design services from large to small scale projects across a broad range of sectors.
Whether it be at the initial or detailed planning stage, sketch or detailed design, contract documentation, construction period and or post completion management, we can provide all client types with a bespoke service.
Masterplanning and Urban Design
Our landscape team can undertake masterplanning, visioning and urban design for projects from large to small scale, either as the lead designer or in a support role. We have a strong understanding of the planning and development process and we believe that by collaboratively working together with clients and by joining forces with architects, engineers, ecologists, planners, or other specialist professionals, the best and most creative design solutions are achieved.
Our aim is to analyse, understand and enhance the green infrastructure, environment and landscape for people and the natural world. As well as creating beautiful and nature rich places to live and work, we also understand the need to meet the needs of clients and deliver solutions which are pragmatic, robust and effective.
Hard and Soft Landscape
Landscapes are comprised of hard and soft elements and each collectively contribute to the harmonious whole. The success of a project ultimately depends on getting the design materials and detailing correct whether it be the hard paving, walls, fences and signage, or the tree, shrub planting, herbaceous and grass.
Water
We have specialist skills and experience in working on water related projects and are able to assist civil engineers in the design of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SuDS), Flood Protection and Waterbodies and Watercourses. With the increase of flood risk from global warming, and the growing appreciation of the value of rivers, ponds and lakes for nature and people, we can help create wildlife rich and attractive water environments.
Infrastructure and Minerals
We are able to assist on a wide range of Infrastructure projects where landscape and ecology inputs are required. These range from highways, communications, pipelines and power. Increasingly, the planning and siting of these important networks involve landscape assessments and design as well as ecological surveys and mitigation. Similarly, for mineral extraction works, we can assist in planning the design of spoil tips and prepare restoration plans which are positive landscape and wildlife features.
Construction Stage
From the tender stage through to construction and post completion inspections, our landscape team can assist you. We can provide either support services to larger construction schemes or take the lead role for smaller landscape projects. Our experienced lead landscape architect has been involved with the building of a wide range of development and can bring their skills and advice to your project.
Environmental Management Plans
We consider the environmental management and maintenance to be a critical element to ensure the establishment and longer-term success of your project. The natural world is a dynamic and complex system, and we apply our deep understanding of landscape and ecology, along with consideration of other disciplines in the preparation of environmental management plans.
